Sudmo Single-Seat Tank Bottom Solenoid Valves are operated by compressed air through a linear pneumatic actuator or manual operator. When a spring is installed on the actuator, the static position of the valve can be provided in the normally open position despite being normally closed; this is determined by both the plug configuration used and timely selected and the combination of the actuator mode. Int. plug type will be terminated with a Normally Closed (NC) valve, therefore SE + Ext.= NO, Internal Spring (SR) actuator. plug type will be terminated with a Normally Open (NO) valve, therefore SR + Ext.= NC Mode, the actuator arrangement can be easily changed in the field by simply reversing it. (See separate Installation, Operation and Maintenance Instructions for details). When air pressure is applied to the cylinder, the valve plug moves throughout the entire stroke, transitioning from one state to another. From open to closed in the single-seat tank bottom valve case. These valves have only a few simple moving parts and this makes the valve very reliable in use.
