Südmo Single Bed Valves are operated with compressed air through a linear pneumatic actuator that can be supplied with spring return or springless. The idle position of the valve, although normally closed (down position), can also be provided as normally open (up position); this is determined by the actuator mode being Spring Extend (SE) or Spring Retract (SR) selected during ordering.

The mode can also be easily changed in the field by reversing the actuator assembly. When air pressure is applied to the cylinder, the valve spool moves from one position to the other through the entire stroke. In the case of F267J+ changing from open to closed or vice versa and F268J+ changing the flow path from one direction to another.

Südmo Single Bed Valves have only a few simple moving parts, making it a very reliable valve in service.
